Adam Photos!

Time for your daily dose of cute baby!  Enjoy Adam’s sweet face, chubby cheeks, and bright blue eyes.  (Sorry about the lighting, they turned out kind of dark)

These first ones are in his Pack-n-play, or as Scott calls it, his Pack-n-prison. He seems to enjoy it though!

He loves “walking” with his big sisters!

And when that fails, clapping and crawling!

Sometimes he just wants to be the perfect photographer’s subject. 🙂

Owls!

Monday night around 5:30, Zoe, Rhyan, and I were outside playing football when we heard some shrieking and squawking from across the street.  So of course I ran and grabbed my camera!  The first thing I saw was a dove, which was a little disappointing, and then I saw a Great Horned Owl in our across-the-street neighbor’s yard!  As we looked around some more, Zoe spotted a juvenile, Rhyan spotted another juvenile behind some branches, which rendered it unphotographable, and I found an adult.  They were all calling back and forth to each other with harsh screeches from the babies and almost soothing reprimands from the parents.  Neither of the calls sounded owlish, which is why I was surprised to see who was making them.  During the whole rest of the night I could hear them, which worried me a little when I had to take my plump, juicy, defenseless puppy outside. 🙂  Other than that, it was such a cool experience!  And now I know I have owls around my house!  If I get any more pictures I’ll post them.  Here are the ones I took then.

So you may have guessed that this post is about my baby brother Adam!  He is already 10 months old, and I realized that with him crawling and all, I should be taking some pictures!  So I did, and over two days I managed to capture these.  Enjoy!

P.S. For those of you who are wondering, yes, he is sucking on my dog tags.  And yes, he is allowed to do that.  🙂

My New Camera!

Recently my dad has been teaching me about photography.  Which settings to use in which conditions, what looks professional, whatever he’s been learning.  But my 14 year old Toshiba point and shoot didn’t have the options I needed to apply what I was learning.  So he searched his geek websites with great deals, (Craigslist 🙂 )  and found a Nikon D80 for $150.  Those things are selling for $400 sometimes, because even though they are about 10 years old, they have professional grade specs.  And, the people selling this camera lived a few minutes away from our house!  It was completely a God thing.  My mom, dad, and I all pitched in, and Dad and I picked it up Tuesday night.  It was in good condition, and worked fine.  Dad had a lens for it back at his house, so after hitting Subway for dinner, we headed straight for his house.  We tried it out on ordinary objects, such as the time, a speaker, the ceiling fan, and his guitar.  DSC_0013 (2) DSC_0018 (2) DSC_0019 (2) DSC_0021 DSC_0022 (2) DSC_0024 (2)

Then this morning I went outside, walked around our house, and took these!

Also, I experimented with inside shots.  Random fact: Babies and dogs don’t like staying still for photos.  But these were the ones that came out.  Sort of.

So Thank you Lord for my new camera, and let my pictures always glorify You!

Shark Valley

I went to the Everglades!!!  The state park we visited is called Shark Valley, but I cannot really see why.  Here are some of my favorite pictures I took using my dad’s Nikon Coolpix.

I definitely recommend taking the time to travel down there, and taking the tram the 15 miles to the tower, unless you have more stamina than me, then you could bike or walk there.  🙂 Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the birds we saw, history of the park, and everything else she talked about.  I learned a lot, and bought a hat!  🙂  Dad and I are already talking about going back!  Also, on the way there we stopped at a rest stop type place, and I saw a Yellow-Throated Warbler!  Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures, but my dad did.

Dad took a picture of me with my film camera that my aunt gave me.  I am still developing the pictures from that day, but I should soon get them back from Walgreen’s!
