A Thang With Wangs

Flying insects use all sorts of creative methods to get from from point A to point B. About 54.5 million to 37 million years ago, at least one species of beetle was using wings that looked like helicopter propellers to get around, Science News reports.

If I found an old helicopter, everyone would know that it was made by humans because it is too complex to have been created by a bolt of lightning striking a tree that was next to some scrap metal or something, right?  OK, then how are evolutionist scientists going to explain how THIS came about? Helicopter wings on an insect? Wings in and of themselves are an amazing “invention” —  one we’ve barely been able to replicate — and yet most people believe (we don’t have proof) that they evolved by chance and luck and chemicals. How’d the chemicals get there? Chance and luck and matter mixing and reacting, right? How’d the matter get here? A big explosion. What exploded? Everything. How? Well… we’re working on that one.

Creationist scientists know that since God is unchanging, his laws won’t change either. (Gravity, Laws of Thermodynamics, Laws of Motion, etc.) Because of this knowledge, we can use the scientific method to examine and try to begin to understand nature around us. We can even predict things! How amazing is that? 😀  We know exactly how creation came into being.  God told it to. 🙂  Everything was created within a week, even these helicopter beetles.  The intricate design of God’s creation is something that we can try to replicate, but he gave us the materials in the first place, so we really can’t take credit for any of it.  But, that’s OK!  We are here to bring him glory, and that’s all that the founding fathers of science, like Isaac Newton, wanted to do.  Should our mindset be any different?

P.S. Dear Evolutionists, you do know that the word “universe” comes from “uni-” (single) and “-verse” (spoken sentence).  The thing you say came about by chance is actually called a “single spoken sentence.”

Bill Nye’s Ark Encounter

Despite Bill Nye’s hostility to the Gospel and those who are spreading it, I praise God for the opportunity He gave to AiG to share the Good News with him, and for the world to see how Christians should treat those that oppose them.

The largest timber-framed structure in the world just received an unlikely visitor as Bill Nye “the Science Guy” made an unscheduled visit to the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky on Friday. Visitors were treated to a two-hour impromptu debate as Ken Ham graciously guided Nye on a personal tour through all three decks.

The Ark Encounter, which opened to the public on July 7, 2016, is an amazing representation of the historical Noah’s Ark- what it may have looked like, how it could have been built, and how feasible it would have been for Noah and his family to care for all the different kinds of animals that would have boarded during the year-long global flood.

Several weeks ago Ken Ham publicly invited Bill Nye on a personal tour, and Nye accepted. The fact that he accepted is both interesting and encouraging. You could say that Bill Nye is Ken…

The Truth is Unchanging

I hope that the reblog I posted last week made you really think about what you believe, and helped you see what you don’t. Today I’m going to repost one of my own blog posts from a while back, a poem.  This summed up what I believed and still do.  I hope you enjoy it and that it rings true in your heart.

Believed for so long
“Known” to be true.
Evolution from soup
Of me and you.

Creationists laughed at
But would you believe it?
Call it science?

Growing from soup
By process unknown.
Little to no proof,
Wait, hold the phone.

You want me to believe that?
I’m just an accident?
With the design I see
All around me?

I’m sorry, no I just can’t,
There is no evidence.
Design always spawns from a designer,
Of that I’m completely sure.

Does this beautiful world look accidental…
To you?
Perfect systems in place
To keep us all glued.

I think that they’re wrong,
That we’ve been lied to.
I believe there’s a God,
He loves me and you.

Instead of nature, creation
Purposeful and perfect
Made with a plan
But we ruined it.

Instead of our eternal happiness,
We disobeyed, and on us a curse was placed.
Death and troubles, separation from God.
Could this be the end?  No it was not.

A sacrifice for us,
Taking the penalty,
Death’s new victim,
Oh! No, it couldn’t be!

Jesus Christ, God’s only son
Loved immeasurably, loves us as one.
He took our punishment, the grave.
Overcoming death, he saves!

Oh glorious day!
The curse has been broken,
The shackles fall down,
So why does the world endlessly frown?

Because Jesus saves,
We owe a debt gladly paid,
Telling the world
That they can be changed!

But the debt is unappealing,
Bondage!  They say.
They can save themselves,
It’s “easier” that way.

But they don’t understand
The gravity of their plight.
Jesus Christ is the only way,
The only one who can save the day.

The God of the universe is calling you,
What will you answer, what will you do?
He alone is mighty to save,
For you he died, his soul he gave.

Will you let him?
Let him save you.
Throw down your pride,
Let him love you.
