I Love My Brother!

A few minutes ago…

Adam comes into my room and tries to give me my bird field guide and notebook, but the weight of the field guide is confusing to him and he grunts in frustration.  He finally figures out how to pick it up and he hands it to me, face aglow with pride in his accomplishment.  With his mission accomplished he settles down for some chill time by plopping down on the ground and looking at me.  This is the signal for me to get down my magnetic chess board with the pieces all set up for him to play with.  He loves it, and usually brings me the pieces… Or scatters them about the house. πŸ™‚

Nothing brings me more joy than to watch him taking interest in chess and birding at such an early age, and wanting me to share it with him. Thank God for brothers!

P.S. Yes, I wrote it in present tense even though I was talking about a past event. You can’t stop me. Mwahahahaha… (Mom, please don’t punish me. πŸ™‚ )

  1. Thanks for sharing such a precious interchange between you and Adam. Moments like that are so very special…and you are quite the sister to love your brother with such tenderness!

  2. Such a sweet story.
I’m glad you two are developing such a unique bond.
My brother and I are only 3 yrs apart and we fought all the time because we were very different. But we are still close today since we do share the same sense of humor. No matter how far we drift apart, our silly sense of humor always brings us back together. Yep brothers can be pretty cool πŸ™‚

    Have a great Sunday!

  3. Okay, I’ll let it slide this time πŸ™‚ Adam’s cuteness trumps everything — even (gasp) grammar and writing mechanics! I’m so glad you are enjoying him so much and are giving him so much love. He has the bestest big sis! (Yes, I said bestest) πŸ˜€

  4. I β™‘ this post! Brothers a such a blessing!!! And…ha ha ha! I didn’t even notice that you wrote in the present tense….It flowed that well. Besides, I’ve done a bunch of writing in first person present tense, because I’m crazy like that too! πŸ˜‰

    1. Aww, thanks! I love present tense (more dramatic) but for historical narratives it doesn’t quite work, so my mom (aka writing teacher) has been getting on me about it. πŸ™‚ But wow, thank you! If you couldn’t notice that’s great! Hehe, crazy people gotta stick together! πŸ™‚
